Familiefilmen 'Mufasa: Løvernes konge' er den nyeste film i Disneys Løvernes konge-univers.
Handlingen finder sted før begivenhederne i Løvernes konge og følger Simbas far, Mufasa, som ung.
Mufasa er en lille, forældreløs løve, som drømmer om at blive del af en familie. Da han møder den unge royale løve, Taka, dannes et tæt venskab, som vil ændre begge deres liv for altid.
Filmen 'Mufasa: Løvernes konge' bygger videre på karaktererne fra Disneys klassiske tegnefilm fra 1994, Løvernes konge.
Barry Jenkins (Moonlight) har instrueret den såkaldte live action-film, hvor både dyr og den mageløse natur ser fuldstændigt realistisk ud.
Stemmerne leveres af stjerner som Mads Mikkelsen (både på dansk og engelsk), Seth Rogen og Beyoncé.
